Double Standards

9cc758209826718_1

Imad Hajjaj says it all.

Translation (right to left):

- This is anti-Semitism.
- This is racism.
- And this is freedom of speech! (cartoons that mock Prophet Muhammad PBUH)

SorRy to say this. But they don't have a clue what is the real facts. They have been mislead. Sorry for any mispelling - I am From Denmark and the world need to know what is happening. The self proclaimed Iman Abu Laban has beeing telling liess for severeral Y in Denamrk. His sonn has been dismissed from school. Laban has beein caught severval times in lying on Danish TV. This Man has started all this this against denmark 2 month ago showing pictures and telling stories that has never been in the Danish media. The muslims thrust him :-( This is a shame and he supported Osama Bin Laden. Sorryt to tell some is thrue - Most of it is lies.Islam doesnt seems ready to the West/europewith these kinds of Imams like Laban (check Google

So this is Real Islam. ??? Have U been been in Denmark and do U know what is happening ?? In Denmark there have always had a god relationship between the christians and the muslims. Until Ahcmed Laban showed up. Then everything was destryoed.
What is a shame.Do U all down there belives in what the lier tells U. The Laban ? He should have his thunge cut out

thank you for the denmarkian friend, but i think the muslims are around 1.5 bilian and let's say there are 5% who knows to speak and understand english???
all of us so the pictures, and i think we can read between the lines, so we don't need some one to tell us how to explain it, so if the same newspaper put pictures against the jews or israel, i personally forgive her, because the jews will tear it apart.

This is nonsense.

Are you muslims really expecting an European to care about Muhammad or your religion?

Give me a break!

You folks may have your religious governments in YOUR countries as you wish, not eating pork and knowing art only as geometric patterns and arabic scripts. It's perfectly fine.

But don't expect to be able to behave in Europe as if you were in your country, because IT IS NOT.

Muslims are FOREIGNERS in Europe and should behave accordingly.

To "Christian Guy",

- You start with "Are you muslims...?" Regardless of the non-capital M in "Muslims", what makes you presumes that everyone contributing to this blog is Muslim? What makes you think that every Muslim supports the attacks on foreign embassies?

- "You folks may have your religious governments in YOUR countries". Well no! There are many Muslims who are both believers on the personal level and secularist when it comes to government, and don't see a contradiction between the two. The aim of the demonstrations is not to have religious governments in "our" countries.

- "knowing art only as geometric patterns and arabic scripts". I can't believe you're Christian! This stereotyping is downright racist. What do you know about Muslim artists? Not only do you forget poetry, a major art in Arab-speaking countries, or music for that matter, but you are ignoring Muslims artist painters of the 20th century. Since we are talking about Syria here, please check out Fateh Al-Mudarres, Louai Kayyali and Nadhir Nab'ah... and that's only the "older generation" of artists.

- "Muslims are FOREIGNERS in Europe and should behave accordingly." What do you know about Europe? Do you know, for instance, that most of the 5 million Muslims living in France are actually French? Either they are second and third generation immigrants, or they have converted to Islam. In both cases, they are legally and culturally French. The same applies to different figures and different countries in Europe. Muslims are NOT foreigners in Euope.

It is strange. I read the signature "Christian Guy" (and I think that I know quite well the teachings of Christ) but when I read your contribution, I thought that you could have signed "Unchristian, xenophobic guy".

Gottfried I couldn't have said it better. Thank You. I can't believe how ignorant some people can be.

> What makes you think that every Muslim supports the attacks on foreign embassies?

Like it or not, the press and mass media wield this huge, double-edged sword that can shape public opinion using only small sound bites. The Western culture (as a broad generalization) is terribly time-hungry. Like it or not, few people want to spend the time to find any information beyond these little snippets.

And what do we see?

Dutch response: discussion, legal action, loud demonstrations

Eupoean response: loud demonstrations, anger, calls for violence

Syria, Iran (and others) response: violence, burnt embassies, demands for the lives of those responsible

In the West, there are fortunes made by consultants who do nothing but provide advice concerning how to keep your sound bites as positive as possible (look up the term "spin-doctor"). My point is that these sound bites hold a disproportionate weight in forming public opinions. Their power is not to be underestimated.

That said, most of us in the West understand that what the media portrays is necessarily dramatic (to help their ratings), and not always representative.
